“What the HELL are you talking about?”

aka the page you should read if you’re asking yourself: “They keep using that weird acronym for this stuff, what is it” or “the HELL is Razzmatazz and why is it tagged here” or “What is this even attempting to be?”. Search no more, this is it.

Two Deaths aka TD

Two Deaths banner

…aka Two Deaths of (dubiously a doctor) W. D. Gaster. But that’s long so you’ll only see me referring to it as “TD”. Originally a longfic of the same name, now has grown into a loose series around a main fic. Pre-canon, mostly canon-compatible fic beginning when the Barrier closes the Monsterkind underground. Wait, no… little bit after that. Gaster becomes the Royal Scientist, having to deal with both his personal issues and issues threatening the entire Monsterkind after moving underground. Somehow he gets two little skeleton souls to look after until something happens. He’s very stressed about all of this, and his support network pretty much consists only from Grillby and an elder scientist. He’s doing great. Centers mainly Gaster’s struggles and the relationship between him and Grillby. Eventually, there’s going to be Dadster, I promise. You just have to be patient with me writing this thing.

When I talk about Chrastí or tiny Grillby fic, it’s a multichapter fic in the same timeline, dealing with Grillby’s childhood and growing up. Currently it hasn’t been updated in a while, but it still lives in my head rent free. Eventually. Eventually, it will update.

Gaster/Wing is an anxious and occasionally scatter-brained scientist whose formal education stopped before he could get any titles due to the War ramping up, and necessitating him and a team he belong to accompany a field hospital. With magic that doesn’t quite work apart from his blue (refusing to work even in forms of his voice and stable bullets), he wouldn’t be a good fit for the front anyways. Still, he ends up getting into a scuffle with a human, and manages to accidentally partially absorb their soul while dusting, which led to him… not really being a skeleton anymore. And also losing sight in one eye. He’s not very happy about it all. But he’s kind and tries his best to help out where he can. He might overdo it from time to time.

When I draw TD Gaster, he tends to have jagged cracks, little wisps around his neck and sleeves, and a black labcoat with an enormous amount of pockets. If I don’t call him TD!Gaster, I call him Pockets. He’s also asexual aromantic, specifically both romance and sex repulsed. :)

Grillby is a calm and collected fire elemental, originally helping out in a tavern on the Surface with a dragon monster called Brunn. He got his voice late and is a bit monotone, and his flames are significantly more subtle than most of his friends. When a monster came by that used exclusively sign, he couldn’t be happier to talk to someone who he can get more expressive with. They hit it off and he’s been good friends with (and worrying for) the skeleton ever since.

When I draw TD Grillby, he tends to have short, very blobby flames, and lacks most facial features apart from eyebrows (or squinted eyes). He’s also bisexual aromantic, neutral on romance, though he won’t be the one to initiate an attempt at a relationship. He’s just kinda chilling.

Razzmatazz

Razzmatazz is a series of loosely connected fics, centering mostly around a romantic relationship between Grillby and Gaster. Occasionally something different. Gaster in this one is Sans’ and Papyrus’ older brother, and Grillby and Gaster met while sharing dorms.

Gaster is a constantly exhausted guy who sometimes loses control of the pitch of his voice, especially when tired. After several bad experiences, he’s extremely slow to trust and quick to anger if he doesn’t trust you. However, he’s extremely protective of those he cares about. To a fault. Busted his soul in fighting the previous Royal Scientist, has had migraine issues since.

When I draw Razzmatazz Gaster, he tends to have straight cracks, sharper features, and most of the time, he has a healing patch across the larger one. If I don’t call him Razzmatazz!Gaster, I call him just Razzmatazz. He’s arospec, and bit clueless on the dating part. That’s all the labels you get. He finds other labels more of a hassle than of use.

Grillby/Kindling is endlessly persevering only child of a family that wanted him to take the mantle in their forging business. He has no interest in it, and eventually managed to move far away from then to not be reminded of his family heirloom by them constantly. Seeing Gaster in a bit of a different light than most did, he’d grown to like him. Considers Sans and Papyrus as his younger siblings. Eventually adopts Fuku as his niece. They have no blood relation at all. He cannot be stopped.

When I draw Razzmatazz Grillby, he tends to have a big mane of flames, freckles, is fat and has top surgery scars. If I don’t call him Razzmatazz!Grillby, I call him Kindling. He’s happily trans and gay.

Smok Signals

Smok Signals is a series of loosely connected fics. Primarily a Gaster Blaster AU, without the medical angst. Gaster is a dragon, and he’s the best dad he can do. Apart from skelefam, also deals a lot with the close relationship Grillby and Gaster have.

Gaster is a very scatter-brained, bit mad-sciency guy. He invented a magic pendant that allows him to shift into a much smaller, humanoid form kind on a whim. He’s strangely soft for someone who had gone through a War and used to hunt to feed himself. Bit of a puppy.

When I draw Smok Signals Gaster, he tends to wear a robe and have a spiked skull, along with a skeletal tail. Or he’s straight up a skeletal dragon. When I don’t call him Smok Signals!Gaster, I call him Bestie. He’s nebulously aro, but not romance-repulsed. Enjoys messing with people in tandem with Grillby by skirting the perceived romantic/non-romantic relationship lines.

Grillby is a kind healer, just wanting people to be safe and sound. Saved Gaster’s life back on the Surface, and during the War they were bound together as a healing unit. They grew very close. Nowadays he’s retired active healer duty and decided a bar is kinder on his nerves. Endlessly anxious about being a good parent to Fuku.

When I draw Smok Signals Grillby, he tends tends to be of the detached-head-flame, blobby, face feature-less type, and happily fat, usually with circular glasses. If I don’t call him Smok Signals!Grillby, I call him Hearth.

Papyrus is Gaster’s mad-science son. Fuku was found and adopted by Grillby. Sans just kind of gets thrown into this universe, and is absorbed into the skeleton dragon family.

MWaF

MWaF banner

…aka Midnight Wraith and the Firebird. An AU where Gaster is a vampire, and then I threw in a bunch of slavic folklore for the flavour. Eventually aims to be a Gaster and then Gaster/Grillby-centric fic, at about ~40k words. It’s being written. Despite me right now mostly drawing fluffy nonsense for it, it will be an M-rated fic for violence tad more graphic than my usual, and certain sensitive themes that arise from Gaster’s vampirism.

Gaster/Aster was a human that revived as a vampire when he died violently and was buried improperly. That left him bitter, angry and very, very alone.

When I draw MWaF Gaster, I tend to draw him with long fangs, permanently deformed left eye socket with webbing cracks and a cloak with a hood. When I don’t call him MWaF!Gaster, I call him Wraith.

Grillby is a firebird from distant lands, joining the Monster Forces despite the very prevalent language barrier. A glowing symbol of hope for many monsters, even if he doesn’t always feel like it.

When I draw MWaF Grillby, I tend to draw him very fluffy, more bird than a flame. When I don’t call him MWaF!Grillby, I call him Firebird.

Teashop AU

…HOW did you get here. I talk about this one like, never. My newest, post-pacifist au. Technically canon-compatible, but Mt. Ebbot is inexplicably situated in the Moravian-Silesian region. Gaster works at a tea shop and Grillby goes there to study for his driver’s license. If this turns out to be anything, it will be probably low-stakes, slice of life ficlets.
